GDC 59818 Registered Specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics

Specialist in Periodontics & Prosthodontics, Dental Implant Surgeon
MRD RCS(Eng), MSc BDS(Lon)

I qualified from The Royal London Hospital in 1984 and followed this with hospital appointments at Guy’s Hospital, University College Hospital, The Eastman Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street. I went on to study for a Master’s degree in Conservative Dentistry at Guy’s Hospital and in 2000 was accepted on to the Specialist Register in both Prosthodontics and Periodontics.

I have been placing dental implants for more than 25 years, and this has become my particular area of interest and expertise. I teach and lecture extensively in the UK and abroad, and I devote time to Research and Development in Implant Dentistry3D Imaging, and 3D Manufacturing with several of my innovations patented, at times using my own designs of implants which are specially manufactured by Nobel Biocare™ for particularly challenging cases.

I have an honorary appointments at University College London Hospital, where I am involved in advanced implant treatments for patients requiring jaw or facial reconstruction. I have also contributed to the developments of new technologies and treatments for patients with advanced problems, to make surgery less invasive and more predictable – I particularly enjoy the challenge of almost never refusing to help a patient who needs restoration with dental implants and I thrive on the interactions of working together with colleagues referring their patients for specialist care.

My interest in technology is not confined to dentistry, and in 2008 founded digits2widgets.com, a 3D Printing design studio, which helps to make other peoples ideas and designs a physical reality. I spend my spare time sculpting with clay and throwing pots. I am an avid reader, I cycle and I enjoy listening to classical music – and love spending time with my grown children!
