Precision alignment. Long-term oral health.

At Dawood & Tanner, orthodontics is about function, health, and stability—not just aesthetics. Led by specialist orthodontists, we provide tailored treatments that support long-term oral health, improved bite function, and naturally beautiful results. Whether you’re managing minor crowding or a highly complex case involving missing teeth or jaw irregularities, our expert team will deliver a precise, individualised treatment plan.
We use the latest in digital dentistry to plan and deliver treatment with exceptional accuracy. Advanced 3D imaging, digital modelling, and precision diagnostics allow us to visualise your final result before treatment begins. These technologies not only enhance accuracy—they reduce treatment time and support long-term success. Where appropriate, treatment is coordinated with our in-house implant, surgical, and restorative teams, offering seamless care under one roof.
Braces to treat all concerns.
Orthodontic treatment (braces) to straighten your teeth, improve your smile and your dental health may be considered at any age – more than half of our patients are adults.
We consider Orthodontics to be both a science and an art that involves not only the alignment of crooked or spaced teeth, but also improving your bite and dental health.
Treatment is tailored to each patient to address their individual situation and expectations. We will help you choose the correct brace system which is most suited to you and your life style.
We pride ourselves in offering our patients personalised treatment that is suited to and planned for their needs, lifestyle, and expectations.

Brace types appropriate for your lifestyle and treatment outcome

We use state of the art technology and appliances including Invisalign, Damon, Incognito systems, as well as traditional brace systems for all age groups.
We also routinely use:
- Fixed braces (e.g. Damon system)
- Discreet fixed braces (e.g. Incognito Lingual braces)
- Invisible removable braces (e.g. Invisalign)
- Removable Braces (plastic with wire clips)
- Functional Braces (for growth modification)
Braces for children
As your child grows and develops, their teeth may need orthodontic treatment for a lovely smile that builds confidence. Our specialist orthodontist will help with the assessment of your child as their face and jaws grow, and dentition develops.
There is no set age for an orthodontic consultation, but usually you will be referred at an appropriate stage by one of our experienced Specialist Paediatric dentists, or by your general dental practitioner. You are always welcome to book an appointment to discuss your concerns.
- overcrowding
- protruding teeth
- gaps between teeth
- lack of space for developing teeth
- extra teeth
- too few teeth
- early loss of teeth due to trauma
- dental decay
- poor biting relationships between the teeth and jaws

The age at which we treat our patients is specific to each and every young patient, and takes into account their growth and development. We also advise on breaking bad dental habits such as thumb/finger sucking and nail biting, as well as introducing the use of a protective sports guard for all contact sports. The type of braces is also highly individual; you do not always have to wait for all of the adult teeth to appear before starting treatment!
It is extremely important that your child continues to see the hygienist regularly while undergoing any orthodontic treatment.
Both these children were treated using a set of fixed braces and Invisalign respectively.
Braces for adults
While often associated with younger patients, orthodontic treatment can be considered at any stage of life. In fact, more than half of our orthodontic patients are adults—and we regularly treat individuals in their 60s and 70s.
At your consultation, we’ll present a range of treatment options and guide you in selecting the most suitable one. We commonly use Damon, Incognito, and Invisalign, each with distinct advantages. In some cases, we may even combine systems to achieve the most effective and efficient results.
Your treatment plan will be tailored using digital photography, detailed impressions, specialised x-rays, and, where needed, 3D Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scans. Our in-house technology also allows us to visualise your anticipated outcome in 3D before treatment begins—helping you make an informed decision with confidence.

This adult patient had always wanted straighter teeth. We were able to align her smile using a discreet brace and without the need for extractions. She was thrilled with the outcome and now smiles with renewed confidence.
Multi-disciplinary braces
In some cases, patients present with complex dental issues that require a carefully coordinated approach, combining orthodontic treatment with procedures such as dental implants or bridges. For example, braces may be used to align teeth and create the precise amount of space required for a missing tooth before an implant is placed. In other instances, orthodontics may be needed after successful treatment for advanced gum disease, helping to stabilise tooth position and improve the long-term outcome of restorative work.
At our practice, this type of treatment planning is significantly simplified by the fact that we have specialists in all major dental disciplines working together under one roof. This allows for seamless communication between clinicians and a fully integrated approach to your care.
Where appropriate, we may refer you back to your existing dentist or specialist—but we’re also able to collaborate or coordinate all aspects of your treatment plan within our expert team.
We are always happy to provide a second opinion, whether you’re midway through treatment or exploring new options, and will ensure you receive clear, well-informed advice every step of the way.
