MRD RCS(Eng), MSc, BDS(Lon), FCGDent, MDTFEd
Susan Tanner is a trusted specialist in prosthodontics and implant-supported dental reconstructions, known for her collaborative, detail-focused approach to creating long-lasting and natural-looking smiles. With over 30 years of specialist experience, she has played a key role in developing protocols for full arch and short-span implant restorations, particularly for patients with complex needs or previous treatment failures.
As a founding partner at Dawood & Tanner, Susan leads a prosthodontic team that works closely with surgeons and technicians to ensure that each patient receives beautifully planned restorations that function well and feel entirely natural. She is exceptionally experienced in rehabilitating patients with atrophic jaws, where there is very little bone available due to resorption or damage, using immediate fixed solutions, helping patients regain function and confidence, often after years of compromised oral health.
Susan is also committed to mentoring and education, delivering teaching through the Dawood & Tanner Academy, international lecturing, teaching at UK dental schools and as an Education Council Member of The Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation, a major professional educational resource for dental implantology. She is a founding member of the British Women’s Society for Implant Dentistry, supporting greater representation and learning opportunities for women in the field.
