Research conducted by the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons show that 80 percent of children aged 1 – 2 in England did not visit a dentist in the year to March 31, 2017.

Extractions and tooth decay have risen in children over the last decade. Last year there were 9220 children admitted to hospitals for extractions due to decay.

Tooth decay can be prevented with good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups.

Our specialist paediatric dentist Kathy Harley says “You should be brining your baby for check-ups at the dentist and brushing their teeth regularly, as soon as their first tooth comes through.”
