GDC No 61946 Registered Specialist in Prosthosdontics
I qualified from University College Hospital in 1986 followed by hospital appointments at The Westminster Hospital and Guy's Hospital, and a Master's Degree in Prosthetic Dentistry at The Eastman Dental Hospital. I set up the prosthodontic treatment facility in the maxillofacial department of St Bartholomew’s Hospital at the same time as working in the new private practice with Andrew Dawood, which we took over from a retiring dentist in 1992. Following acceptance onto the Specialist Register in prosthodontics in 2000, I then devoted myself entirely to the Dawood & Tanner Dental Practice, building it into the incredible British flagship practice of which I am very proud.
As well as specialist restorative treatments for patients of our practice and referred patients from colleagues, I have about 25 years experience restoring teeth onto dental implants. I lecture extensively in the UK and abroad, giving live demonstrations both on stage and in my surgery on a one to one basis. I am delighted to have spoken at our own practice conference this year, for the 5th year running.
In addition to Specialist Practice, I have a particular interest in rehabilitation for patients with facial deformity, resulting from trauma or cancer. These patients are brought to be treated at the practice in conjunction with the team of maxillofacial surgeons from relevant hospitals, and Andrew Dawood who places dental implants to help with the reconstructions. I have enjoyed being a trustee of the charity 'Saving Faces' and NFORC.
Development and production of our own Dawood and Tanner Tooth Cleanser has been a wonderful experience; the toothpaste is enjoyed by so many people who regularly send us such positive feedback from all around the world, so many more than our own patients, I feel that I have accomplished more than my mission to "get Britain brushing".
